The Imprisoned Man (監獄にいる男 Kangoku ni iru Otoko) is the first chapter special of the The Men Who Created the Prison School Anime featuring Tsumotsu Mizushima. The chapter was serialised alongside Chapter 185 in Weekly Young Magazine on July 27th, 2015.
Summary[]
The chief of copyright and licensing affairs for Kodansha, Takuya Matsushita, is contacted by both Warner Brothers and J.C. Staff for the anime adaptation rights to the Prison School manga - to the shock of him and his colleague Ikuno Iida. Despite the percieved popularity of the manga, the fanservice and maturity of the content is cause for doubt on an anime production to him. When the two media companies send representatives over to a conference in Kodansha's head office, he voices his concerns for the production of an anime adaptation for Prison School - owing to his belief that no director is capable of delivering the adaptation in animated form. However, the representatives suggest experienced director Tsumotsu Mizushima as the only one capable of delivering the anime. When magazine rookie Tsujiko of Weekly Young Magazine's editorial department is sent to the anime production studio to supervise the newly-appointed director, she discovers Mizushima imprisoned in high security while devising a storyboard for the SHIROBAKO anime. Despite his initial dismissal of Tsujiko after introducing herself as a Kodansha employee, he asks her to return upon realising she is from Young Magazine - offering his aid towards the project.
