Inside the Jailhouse (刑務所の中 Keimusho no Naka) is the 8th chapter of the Prison School manga, serialised in Weekly Young Magazine on March 28th, 2011. It was published in tankobon format as the eighth chapter of Volume 1 on June 6th, 2011.

Summary[]

After Meiko Shiraki completes roll-call in the prison, the boys follow the normal school timetable under bars, complete with breaks, canteen lunches and classes in the Prison Block. When the school day ends the boys start their penal labour in the most gruelling part of their day, clearing land for a vegetable garden next to a dormitory. Kiyoshi, deprived of his prison leave, has contrived to dig a partly-complete escape hole in the disposal area during his waste duty.

When he goes to the disposal area that day, Chiyo mirror-signals to him from an upper-floor window and throws down a message before sneaking away. The message Chiyo throws down tells him the time and location of the tournament, and asks him whether he is allowed to go. When he lies and nods, a happy Chiyo waves goodbye and leaves. Gakuto approaches him after their penal labour in the Prison Block to say that he found a message about tag-team tournament from a girl when he was unloading his wheelbarrow in the disposal area. He then asks him whether he was intending to breakout of the prison.
