Summary[edit | edit source]
In the All-Student-Council Cavalry Contest, the USC runs out of strategies to counter the growing strength of the ASC. The desperate situation forces a decisive Hana to attempt exposing Kiyoshi's striped panties in order to disturb the whole opposing cohort. When Hana offers to aid Kiyoshi's confession to Chiyo following his heroic sacrifice, he consents and she removes the sports boxers to reveal her striped panties. The absolute silence that ensues is shown to be a slow-motion out-of-body experience exclusive to Kiyoshi when he fails to talk to the other USC members. When Kiyoshi turns around, he realises the sound of Hana removing his boxers corresponded to the exposure of his nudity - which is in full view of the students in the sports ground. The social suicide of Kiyoshi is likened to funshi (憤死 lit. "discontented death"), with his pleas for help to Hana and Mari in vain.
